Desk report: Bangladeshi Mountaineer Musa Ibrahim has been stuck at the base camp of Mount Carstensz Pyramid in Papua New Guinea, Indonesia due to bad weather.
Musa and his teammate (Two Indian mountaineers) had already run out of food.
Mohammad Abdul Mannan, a journalist of Press Institute of Bangladesh wrote a facebook status seeking help for the mountaineers on Saturday night.
He wrote, "May 23, 2010, the day is significant for Bangladesh as Bangladeshi youth touched the apex of Everest albeit and hoisted flag of Bangladesh for the first time there on that day. The dignity of Bangladesh stepped forward through that achievement."
"I am talking about Musa Ibrahim, the first Bangladeshi to conquer the Everest. He promised to hoist Bangladesh flag in seven continents. Now he is in danger to fulfill the promise."
Earlier, on May 30, Musa left Dhaka for his new venture “Bangladesh-India Friendship” to scale up Carstensz Pyramid, the highest mountain in Australia and Oceania (4,884 metre).
He and the two Indian mountaineers -- Satyarup Siddhanta and Nandita Chandra Shekhar -- began the expedition on June 1 and were expected to finish by June 18.
Musa Ibrahim scaled up Mount Kilimanjaro of Africa in 2011, Mount Elbrus of Europe in 2013 and Mount Denali of North America in 2014.
