Myanmar delegation to sit with Rohingyas

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Representatives of the Myanmar government and Rohingyas have agreed to hold a dialogue on the issue of Rohingya repatriation.

Representatives from Bangladesh and international organisations are also expected to participate in the dialogue.

But the date for the talks was not confirmed yet.

Rohingya people who took part in a discussion with the visiting Myanmar delegation came up with the possibility of holding the dialogue.

Members of the Rohingya delegation declined to talk to media over the issue.

The Myanmar delegation is expected to visit Rohingya Hindu camp on Sunday.

Earlier, a Myanmar delegation visited a Rohingya refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar on Saturday noon.

The 19-member delegation reached Kutupalong Refugee Camp at Ukhia around 1.30pm.  They also talked to 35 Rohingya people.

Earlier, the delegation arrived at Cox’s Bazar Airport around 9.45am on a three-day visit to discuss the repatriation process of Rohingya people.
