Myanmar’s probe team arrive in Cox’s Bazar

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Myanmar’s Independent Commission of Enquiry (ICOE) has arrived in Cox’s Bazar to collect the information of Rohingya abuse.
The delegation arrived in Cox’s Bazar airport around 12:00pm. Later, they went to Hotel Tulip. Then, they joined a meeting with Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC) Mohammad Abul Kalam around 1:00pm. The Myanmar probe team is also scheduled to meet the representatives of UNHCR.
The ICOE is tasked to investigate allegations of human rights violations and related issues with a view to seek accountability and formulating recommendations on steps to be taken to ensure peace and stability in Rakhine from where over a million Rohingyas were driven out by Myanmar military.
Myanmar government formed the probe team to investigate allegations of human rights violations against the Rohingyas. The delegate arrived in Bangladesh on a four-day long visit.
