NBR exempts duty, VAT on mobile phone manufacturing

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has decided to allow duty-free import of raw materials and exempt other taxes to boost the country’s mobile phone manufacturing sector.

NBR issued an order signed by its Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem on Tuesday.

As per order, country’s mobile manufacturers will enjoy the facilities on some conditions.

It is effective from June 11, and mobile manufacturers will enjoy the facilities till June 30, 2022.
