New note of Tk 200 due on Eid

Bangladesh Bank (BB) will release new banknotes of Tk 30,000 crore on the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the biggest religious festivals of Muslims.

Of them, new note of Tk 200 will remain as the key attraction.

Md Serajul Islam, spokesperson and an executive director of the central bank, said the new banknote will be circulated in the market along with the existing denominations.

Earlier on March 18, the central bank released  new banknotes of Tk 200 denomination in March for the first time on the occasion of birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
