No access to Suhrawardy without permission

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah said no one could enter Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital without permission from police for sake of security grounds ahead of ruling Awami League’s triennial council scheduled to be held there on October 22-23.

The DMP commissioner came up with the direction while talking to reporters after visiting Suhrawardy Udyan on Wednesday afternoon.

Asaduzzaman said the restriction will continue until the council ends on October 23.

DMP also imposed instructions on traffic control in the Dhaka University and its adjacent areas ahead of the council.

The Awami League is scheduled to hold its 20th triennial council at the Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on October 22-23 with the party slogan for the event: “We are marching down the development highway, now is the time for Bangladesh to stand tall.”
