No age limit for BB governor

The cabinet has approved in principle a draft of “The Bangladesh Bank (Amendment) Act -2020” keeping provision of reappointing its governor after the age of 65.

The decision came from the special cabinet meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair at the parliament secretariat on Monday.

Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam said this in a briefing after the meeting.
