Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said there is no need for ministers and MPs to face BNP senior leaders in Dhaka city election campaign. The party’s two clean image holders are enough to contest them.
The Road Transport and Bridges Minister said this while briefing reporters at AL president Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi political office on Sunday.
He came up with the statement in reaction to challenge by BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
Earlier, Mirza Fakhrul for Quader, “At first step down from posts of Minister and MP, then come for election campaign. You seek votes for ‘boat’ and me for ‘sheaf of paddy’. Let’s face challenges.”
