Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed said nobody will be allowed to go village on Eid.
He said, “Many people are heading towards village home to celebrate Eid and enjoy additional general holidays announced by the government. This cannot be allowed to happen in any way.”
“Prime Minister has given directives for overall welfare to country’s people. Everybody should follow the directives properly. General people must abide by the government directives and health regulations,” he added.
The IGP said this while speaking with filed level officers through video conference from Police Headquarters on Sunday.
Benazir Ahmed said, “Nobody will be allowed to enter and exit Dhaka until the government issues further directives in this regard. Similarly, every district and metropolitan will strictly implement this issue for the sake of public interest.”
