One dies with coronavirus like symptoms in Kurigram

A person died with coronavirus like symptoms at at Durgapur under Ulipur upazila in Kurigram on Sunday night.

Durgapur union parishad chairman Abed Ali Sardar confirmed the news.

He said, “The person had been suffering from fever when he came home from Tangail several days ago. Since his house was put under lockdown. In the meantime, he suffered from cough and sore throat. On Sunday night, he passed away at his home.”

“Locals did not take part in the burial because of death with coronavirus like symptoms. Later, the body was buried by policemen and health workers on Monday morning,” he added.

Dr Suvash Chandra Sarkar, Ulipur Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, said samples of the dead person and two members of the family were collected to test for coronavirus.
