Youth killed in Khilgaon ‘gunfight’

A youth was killed in a reported gunfight with members of the Detective Branch (DB) in Khilgaon area of the capital early Monday.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

The gunfight took place at Nagdarpar in Khilgaon area around 3:45am.

Sub-Inspector (SI) of Khilgaon Police Station Sadekul Islam said a youth was shot in a gunfight with members of DB at Nagdarpar in Khilgaon area around 3:45am.

After being informed about the gunfight, police rushed to the spot and recovered him, he said.

Later, the 30-year old was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctor declared him dead around 5:45am, the police official added.

The body was kept at DMCH morgue for autopsy, he said.
