One killed in capital ‘gunfight’

A man named MdJalil was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with RAB at Korail slum of Banani in the city on Thursday midnight.

RAB claimed that he was a drug trader.

Assistant Police Super of RAB-1 Kamaruzzaman said acting on a tip off, a RAB team conducted a drive there to arrest drug traders.

Sensing the presence of law enforcers, drug peddlers opened fire, forcing the RAB men to fire back that triggered a gunfight.  MdJalil died on the spot, he also said.

RAB also recovered several firearms and bullets from the spot.

The dead body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
