Secretariat Correspondent: Bangladesh has touched a new high in electricity generation.
The power plants produced 12,539 megawatt electricity at 9pm on Tuesday – a new record, according to the Power Development Board.
Saiful Hasan Chowdhury, public relations director of the Power Development Board (PDB) said, highest level of gas and oil-run centers were kept active to hit the record.
PDB said that there was no power cut in the day of record production. However, load shedding was reported in some areas of the capital.
The previous record of highest power generation was 12, 214 MW set on May 7, 2019.
