Padma Bridge: 22nd span installed

The 22nd span of the 6.15-kilometre long Padma Bridge has been installed on pillar no 5 and 6 of the bridge at the Mawa point in Munshiganj district on Thursday.
The 1-E span was installed around 11:30 am and with this, 3300 meters of the main structure of the mega bridge has become visible.
The work to take the span near pillar no 5-6 by Tian-E crane at Mawa started around 9:00am from Kumarbhog specialised construction yard.
Assistant Engineer of Padma Bridge project Humayun Kabir came up the information.
A total of 41 spans (superstructure) will be installed on the 42 pillars to construct the much-hyped Padma Bridge.
The construction work of the long-cherished Padma Bridge started in December, 2015 and the first span (superstructure) among the 41 was installed on September 30, 2017.
