Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 5 wickets

The half century by veteran batsman Shoaib Malik propelled Pakistan to a comfortable 5-wicket victory against Bangladesh in the T20I series opener at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Friday.

Chasing the 142 runs target, Pakistan suffered an early setback with the loss of Babar Azam in the first over. But, Malik (58 off 45) and Ahsan Ali (36 off 32) guided the team nicely.

Bowler Shafiul Islam bagged two wickets while Mustafizur Rahman, Al-Amin Hossain, Aminul Islam took one wicket each.

Earlier, winning toss, Bangladesh opted to bat first and scored 141 losing five wickets in their stipulated 20 overs.

Mohammad Naim scored 43 runs off 41 hitting three boundaries and two over boundaries. Besides, opener Tamim scored 39 from 34 balls.  

Shoaib Malik was the Man of the Match.
