Pankaj Debnath files case over spreading ‘rumour’

Staff Correspondent: Pankaj Debnath, ruling party lawmaker of Barisal-4 constituency filed a case against five people under digital security act for spreading ‘rumour’ in social media.
The member of the parliament (MP) filed the case with the court of Cyber Tribunal Judge Mohammad Assams Jaglul Hossain on Sunday.
Accused in the case are- Lal Bhai, Mina Farah, Alam Shuvo, Shipon Mahmud Pardeshi and Rajan Rahman Rumi.
The directed the counter terrorism unit of to submit a probe report on September 26 after recording statement of the plaintiff.
According to the case statement, fake IDs were opened using fake pictures on August 26. The accused spread rumour in YouTube, Facebook and other social networking sites. Later, Pankaj Debnath’s personal secretary (PS) filed a general diary (GD) with Dhanmondhi police station. However, the accused continued posting status and pictures against him.
