Picnic bus plunges into ditch, 3 killed

At least three people were killed and 15 others were injured as a picnic bus plunged into a roadside ditch on Dhaka-Chattogram highway on Saturday morning.

The accident took place around 7.30am in Zinglatoli area under Daudkandi upazila.

The deceased were identified as Sahid Mullah at Daudkandi upazila, Shafiqul Islam at Keraniganj in Dhaka, and Md Ramjan Ali in Munsiganj.

Abdullah Al Mamun, officer-in-charge of Daudkandi Highway Police Station, said a Dhaka-bound Khadiza VIP Paribahan bus skidded off the road and fell into the roadside ditch, leaving the trio (a passer-by and two passengers) dead on the spot and 15 others injured.

Police seized the bus.
