Pochettino wants €20m contract with Juventus

Sports Desk: Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino wants a huge multi-million pound contract to join Serie A champions Juventus, according to reports in Italy.

Pochettino has guided Spurs to the Champions League final but has threatened to leave the Premier League side if they do not match his ambition.

This has led to reports of Pochettino moving to Juve, who are set to part company with current manager Max Allegri this summer.

Italian sports newspaper Corriere dello Sport say that Pochettino and Juve have made contact, and the Argentine coach is making huge demands.

They report that Pochettino wants €20million a year (£17.2m) to move to Italy, although Juve chairman Andrea Agnelli will take his time over making a decision.

All this leaves Allegri in limbo, although multiple reports state that he has agreed to leave the Turin club after five years in charge.

Pochettino has stated he is serious about the possibility of leaving Spurs if the club do not seriously attempt to build on their first major European cup final appearance.

He said on Friday: 'The problem is, I need to know what we need to achieve or what we are going to fight for. That is the most important.

'I am not open to start a new chapter with no plan, with no clear idea, with not being transparent, telling you and telling our fans what's next, what is our objective.

'If we expect every season to be in the final of the Champions League, we need to create a plan, and the plan may be different to what has happened in the last five years.

'If we believe we can operate in the same way we have in the last five years and that we are going to be every season in the final of the Champions League, and we are going to be every season in the top four and competing against Liverpool or Manchester City or Manchester United, I think we are very naive.

'In five years we have achieved a lot of things, but now it's what's next, that is my point.'
