Popular candidates will get nomination: Obaidul

Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that popular and acceptable candidates will get nomination in mayoral and councilor posts.

Obaidul Quader said this while addressing a press conference at the AL president’s political office at Dhanmondi in the city on Friday.

No controversial persons will get mayoral and councilor nomination for the January 30 city polls, he said.

“The candidates who have a chance to become winner in the two city corporation polls will get nomination for the mayoral post… no controversial candidates will get nomination,” he said.
