Probe body formed over Buriganga launch capsize

A three-member investigation committee has been formed over the launch capsize in the river Buriganga.
Dhaka River Port's Joint Director AKM Arif Uddin confirmed the information to risingbd on Monday (June 29).
"Real cause behind the launch capsize could be known only after investigation," he said.
Debasish Bardhan, Deputy Director at Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters, said, "We will also form a neutral probe committee over the launch capsize and recommend for taking action."
Earlier, a launch named Morning Bird carrying more than 50 passengers capsized in the river Buriganga around 10 am after it was hit by another launch Moyur-2. Bodies of at least 30 passengers have, so far, been rescued from the launch capsized in the river Buriganga.
Members of Fire Service, Coastguard and Navy are jointly conducting rescue operation to find the missing passengers.
