‘Public transports to be operated under health regulations’

The government has allowed to resume public transportation on limited scale from May 31 to June 15 following health regulations.

Transport leaders said that they will operate public transports under health regulations.

Secretary general of Bangladesh Road Transport Owners' Association Khandaker Enayet Ullah on Thursday said, “Public transports remain suspended for over long two months which put owners and workers in trouble a lot. Workers are very happy as the government has announced to operate public transports.”

“Transports must be operated under health regulations. We must try to follow the rules and regulations so that nobody is infected during journey,” he added.

Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) chairman Yousuf Ali Mollah told risingbd that public transports will resume operation from May 31 to June 15 on limited scale. Now it is very important to maintain social distance to prevent spread of coronavirus outbreak. We will sit with transport leaders over health regulations after notification is published in this regard.
