RMG workers urged not to leave Dhaka city

Railways Minister has urged the RMG workers to not to leave capital Dhaka for their home districts to celebrate Eid ignoring the government’s restrictions on movement and risks of Covid-19 infection.

The minister made the call while inaugurating a tree plantation campaign at Kamalapur Rail Station in the city on Tuesday.

The minister said “There is no additional arrangement of Railways this year on the occasion of Eid. No additional rail will be added. Due to coronavirus outbreak, a limited number of trains will be operated”.

He added “In this situation one should not go out and avoid traveling. Even a large number of garment workers will not be allowed to leave Dhaka ahead of Eid. We should not go home so that virus can spread in villages”.

Railways Secretary Md Selim Reza, Director General of Bangladesh Railways Md Shamsuzzaman and other senior were present on the occasion.
