Rescue operation underway

Savar Correspondent: Rescue operation is underway on Monday after a yellow taxi cab fell into the Turag River near Salehpur Bridge of Aminbazar on the Dhaka-Aricha highway.

Four teams of fire service started the rescue operation around 1:00am Monday. However, no trace of the car is found yet.

Witnesses said the taxi cab of Trust Transport Company lost control when it tried to overtake a passenger bus on the highway and jumped into the river at 8:30pm Sunday, Md Hanif, a driver of taxi cab of Trust Transport Company confirmed.

Fire Service-4 Zone Commander Anwarul Haque said, on information, we rushed to the spot. A 5-member team of divers also joined the rescue operation.
