The interim government has strongly condemned the defamation of Freedom Fighter Abdul Hai at Chauddagram in Cumilla district.
At the same time, instructions have been given to bring those involved to justice.
The chief adviser’s press wing confirmed the information, issuing a statement in this regard on Monday (December 23) morning.
“We strongly condemn the defamation of Freedom Fighter Abdul Hai at Chauddagram on Sunday. The police and local administration have been asked to launch an investigation into the incident and bring the perpetrators to book,” the statement said.
Local police have said Abdul Hai is an accused of nine cases, including murder, the statement further said.
“We urge all to refrain from taking the law into their own hands,” the statement read.
