Rohingya repatriation: Myanmar wants putting blame on Bangladesh

Myanmar wants putting the blame on Bangladesh over repatriation of Rohingyas to their homeland.
Dismissing demands of establishing a “safe zone” for Rohingya in Myanmar, the country now urges Bangladesh to faithfully implement the bilateral agreement and described it as “the only feasible way to resolve the issue of the displaced persons.”
Myanmar’s Union Minister for the Office of the State Counsellor Kyaw Tint Swe made the urge while addressing the global debate of the United Nations General Assembly’s 74th session on Saturday.
He said repatriations would be carried out in line with a November 2017 bilateral agreement with Bangladesh.
Some 900,000 mainly Rohingya refugees from Myanmar have sought shelter in the Cox’s Bazar region in south-eastern Bangladesh following military operations two years ago.
