Rohingya woman among 2 held at passport office

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Two Rohingyas including a woman were detained while trying to obtain fake Bangladeshi passport from Cox’s Bazar local passport office on Tuesday noon.

Deputy Director Abu Nayeem Masum of Chattogram Regional Passport Office confirmed the matter.

He said, Rohingya refugee Manzur Alam and Asma came to the passport office in guise of father-daughter. At one stage, the duty officials checked their finger print and identified them as Rohingyas. Later, they confessed that they are Rohingyas.

The detainees were handed over to police station.
