SC upholds HC order on minimum age for FF

Staff Correspondent: The Supreme Court upheld a High Court verdict that announced illegal the gazette notification of liberation affairs ministry fixing minimum age of freedom fighters at 12.5 years.

Chamber Judge of Appellate Division Justice Md Nuruzzaman Noni passed the order on Wednesday.

ABM Altaf Hossain and Barrister Omar Sadat moved for the petitioner while Attorney General Mahbube Alam stood for the state.

The court also sent the petition to the full bench of the Appellate Division for further hearing on June 23. So, till then, the high court order is upheld, said the lawyers.
