Samrat lands in jail

Ex-Jubo League leader Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat has been sent to jail in two cases filed under the firearms and narcotics control acts.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billah passed the order rejecting his bail petition on Thursday.

Lawyer Afroza Shahnaz Parvin and couple of more lawyers moved for Samrat while assistant public prosecutor Hemayet Uddin Khan (Hiron) stood for the case during hearing.

Earlier, on October 15, Samrat was put on a 10 days remand in two cases filed under the arms and narcotics control acts.
