A Dhaka court has placed expelled Jubo League Dhaka South unit President Ismail Hossain Samrat on a 10-day remand in two separate cases.
The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain on Tuesday placed Samrat on a five-day remand in an arms case and placed both Samrat and his associate Enamul Haq Arman on a five-day remand in an anti-narcotics case.
RAB members arrested Samrat and Arman, vice-president of Jubo League Dhaka South unit, from Chauddagram upazila in Cumilla on October 6.
A mobile court, led by Rab Executive Magistrate SarwarAlam, sentenced Samrat to six months’ simple imprisonment under the Wildlife Conservation Act after the elite force recovered two hides of kangaroo from his Kakrail office.
He was then sent to Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj on that day.
