Seriously ill Ershad flies to Singapore Sunday

Senior Correspondent: Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad has fallen seriously ill. He has become weak alarmingly and cannot move easily. His physical condition has been deteriorating day by day. Currently, he cannot talk and recognise the acquaintances properly.

The former president HM Ershad is expected to fly for Singapore for advance treatment on Sunday.

Ershad's Deputy Press Secretary Khandaker Delwar Jalali confirmed the news on Saturday.

He said, “Sir (Ershad) will leave Dhaka by a Singapore Airlines flight scheduled to be taken off at 12:40pm from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday. His younger brother Hussain Morshed’s wife Rukhsana Khan Morshed and party presidium member Major (retd) Khaled Akhter will accompany him.”
