Shaheen Iqbal made new Navy chief

Rear Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal has been appointed as the chief of Bangladesh Navy.

The Ministry of Defence on Saturday (July 18) issued a gazette notification promoting him to the rank of vice-admiral.

The notification signed by Shah Abdul Alim Khan, joint secretary of Ministry of Defence said, the appointment will be effective for three years from July 25.

On the other hand, ISPR said, Mohammad Shaheen Iqbal will replace incumbent Chief of Naval Staff Aurangzeb Chowdhury who will go on retirement this month.
