Shahinur’s family receives Eid dress this time

After getting food assistance, Shahinur Begum, mother of three kids has received Eid dresses.

Uday Hakim, advisory editor of country’s leading and popular online news portal risingbd, again stretched out a helping hand. He provided foods and Eid dresses to the poverty-stricken woman and her three children.

Carrying the food assistance and Eid gifts, on Saturday (May 23) Shahriar Sifat, staff reporter of the news portal went to the polyethylene-made hut of Shahinur Begum in Bandevatpara area of Basail upazila in Tangail. Later, he provided her the assistance on behalf of Uday Hakim.

The poor woman lost her husband last year. She used to live by begging. But, the coronavirus pandemic made the situation tough. As a result, she was passing her days with her three kids (Rozina, 9, Sagor, 7 and Sagorika, 2) in starvation.

On May 14, the poor widow came to light after a report published titled “Polapain Nia Moira Zamu” (I am going to die with my kids due to starvation).

Noticing the misery of the poverty stricken person, Uday Hakim, came forward with food assistance and some cash money. Later, on Friday (May 15), foods including rice, pulse, potato, oil, salt, eggs, cash money and other necessary items were given to her. At that time, the kind hearted person (Uday Hakim) promised to help the poor woman again.

Following his previous promise, Eid dresses (new sharee, new cloths), rice, sweets, milk, vegetable oil and others were sent to Shahinur’s hut. Besides, another family like Shahinur also received same Eid gifts from Uday Hakim in that locality.

Earlier, an expatriate from Saudi Arabia also sent some cash money for the poor woman and her three children.
