‘Shares of govt-owned companies to be offloaded soon’

Special Correspondent: Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said that 26 shares of government-owned companies will be offloaded soon in the stock market.

The minister made the disclosure while talking to newsmen after meeting with a 15-member delegation of Dhaka Stock Exchange Brokers Association (DBA) at the Secretariat on Wednesday noon.

“It was not possible to offload shares of government-owned companies in the stock market during the reform of stock market. But recently we have held a meeting in this regard. Relevant documents are being readied. Soon those shares of the government-owned companies will be offloaded,” Muhith said.

The delegation led by DBA president Ahmad Rashid Lali met the Finance Minister. DBA vice President Mostak Ahmed Sadek and Khugesta Nur-E-Naharin were, among others, present at the meeting.
