Singer Subir Nandi to be taken to Singapore this evening

Secretariat Correspondent: Critically ill legendary singer Subir Nandi will be taken to Singapore this evening (Monday) for better treatment at the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Noted physician Dr Samanta Lal Sen said an air ambulance will come from Singapore between 5. 00pm to 6.00pm.  The air ambulance will leave Dhaka for Singapore around 7.00am.

Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Ashraful Alam Khokon told media that “Ekushey Padak-winning singer Subir Nandi will be flown to Singapore Monday for better treatment at the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina”.

Musician and composer Subir Nandi was admitted to Dhaka CMH on April 14 after he suffered a massive heart attack.

Since then, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is constantly monitoring the treatment of the critically ill singer.

On April 19, singers Kumar Biswajit, Tapan Chowdhury, Rafiqul Alam and noted physician Dr Samanta Lal Sen met the premier at Ganabhaban to apprise her of the updates of the treatment of the legendary singer.

PM’s deputy press secretary said that earlier the prime minister extended all kinds of cooperation for Subir Nandi’s treatment for two times in 1998.
