Social distancing rules ignored

People outside the EidJamaatsin the capital are too reluctant about maintaining the recommended physical distance to protect themselves and others from coronavirus infection.

While visiting BaitulMukarram National Mosque, it was seen that five Eid congregations were held there keeping social distance. But people outside the mosque were seen to ignore social distancing rules.

Imams of the mosques frequently urged to maintain the health guidelines but their words fell on deaf ears.

This correspondent saw hundreds of people flocking at the gates of mosque and roads.Even though most people were wearing masks, they were ignoring the physical distance guideline.

The first and main Eid congregation was held at BaitulMukarram National Mosque at 7:00am on Monday.

Hafez Mufti MawlanaMizanurRahman, senior imam of the mosque, administrated the first jammat.

The second Eidjamaat was held at 8am and third one was held at 9am.

MaulanaMahiuddinKashem conducted the fourth jamaat which was held at 10 am.

The fifth and last Eidjamaat, conducted by Islamic Foundation Muhaddis Hafez MaulanaWaliurRahman Khan, was held at 10:45am.
