Soumitra Chatterjee, noted Indian film actor, has expressed his hope that he will start shooting for Parambrata’s film in July.
“Now the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions have been eased, so I have planned to get back to work as soon as possible”, Soumitra Chatterjee said this to an Indian newspaper recently.
Talking about the film ‘Abhijaan’, the actor said “Abhijaan is a biopic on me, where I play myself. Jisshu U Sengupta is playing the younger Soumitra. However, it is not a documentary on my life. So, there will be a bit of fiction too”.
“I have not faced the camera for three months at a stretch because of the coronavirus pandemic. This has been a new experience for me. But it’s time we start work again”, he added.
“During the lockdown, I had almost stopped thinking about it because there was no point brooding over something that was not in my control. Before that, I was shooting for Parambrata’s (Chatterjee) film, Abhijaan, which stopped midway because of the coronavirus outbreak. Now, they have asked me to keep my dates free from mid-July, as some parts of the film are yet to be shot. I hope the shooting starts soon, keeping the new normal and safety in mind,” said the actor.
