Sri Lanka declares curfew to prevent coronavirus

Sri Lanka President Office announced that and Islandwide Police curfew will be imposed with effect from 6 PM today (March 20) until 6 am on Monday (March 23).

Earlier a police curfew was imposed in the Puttalam, Chilaw and Negombo police divisions and Ja-Ela and Wattala areas in order to restrict the movement of the people to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Only public transport and essential services are permitted to pass through the curfew imposed areas during the curfew.

Passengers traveling to the Katunayake airport can use the air ticket as a permit to travel during the curfew.
