TIB presents anomalies in lecturers’ recruitment

Staff Correspondent: TK 3 lakh to maximum TK 20 lakh is taken as bribe in recruiting lecturers in public universities of the country, according to a report prepared by Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB).

The anti graft body presented this anomaly at a press conference at the TIB office in the capital’s Dhanmondi on Sunday noon.

After conducting a research on 13 public universities, it is found that money has been allegedly taken in eight of the universities while recruiting lecturers.

TK 3 lakh to maximum TK 20 lakh has been taken as bribe in recruiting lecturers, the research said.

TIB Executive Director Iftekharuzzaman said, “The entire picture is really disappointing and concerned.”

He demanded a concerted and complete recruitment rule in recruiting lectures.

The anti graft body also reported some anomalies before recruitment of the lectures.
