Tampaco factory owner, 5 others surrender to court

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: Tampaco Foils Limited owner Syed Mokbul Hossain and five others have surrendered before a court in Gazipur in two cases filed over the factory fire that killed 39 workers and injured many others on September 10.

Gazipur Sessions Judges Court granted interim bail for factory owner Mokbul and ordered police to send five others to jail after their surrender on Wednesday.

The five others are— Tampaco Managing Director Tanvir Ahmed, DMD Alamgir Hossain, General Manager Shafiqur Rahman, Manager Hanif alias Abu Hanif and Manager Admin Monir Hossain alias Moniruzzaman.

They all surrendered before the court following a High Court order.

The HC issued the order on November 23 asking them to surrender before the lower court concerned in seven days.
