Taposh assumes office as DSCC mayor

Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh assumed his office as the mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

He took the charge formally as the DSCC mayor on Saturday (May 16) noon.

Awami League nominated mayor candidate Barrister Fazle Nur Tapos defeated Bangladesh Nationalist Party backed candidate Engineer Ishraque Hossain on February 1 election.

Though he took oath for office at that month, he had to wait until completion of the tenures of incumbent mayor.

Earlier on Wednesday, M Atiqul Islam took his chair as the mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
