Teenager dies after being hit by cricket bat

A teenager died in hospital in Tangail after he was hit by a cricket bat while playing a cricket match on Friday.

The deceased was known as Saim Rabin, 18, son of Mizanur Rahman, hailed from Purbapara village of Bharra union in Nagarpur upazila.

Witnesses said, a group of youths were playing cricket in a school field and the boy was the fielder. He collapsed on the field after a bat hit him in the neck this noon.

Later, he was taken to Tangail General Hospital where he doctors declared him dead.  

Nagarpur police station Officer-in-Charge Alam Chand confirmed the matter.
