Barguna Correspondent: Ayesha Siddika Minni’s father Mozammel Hossain has claimed that his daughter was forced to give the confessional statement.
“Tell media about torture on you”, Mozammel Hossain told Minni on the court premises on Friday afternoon.
"Minni is sick. She was forced and tortured to record the confessional statement," he said.
"My daughter tried to save her husband risking her own life. Was that her crime?" he added.
Aysha Siddiqa Minni, wife of slain youth Rifat Sharif, confessed to her involvement in the much talked-about Rifat murder before a Barguna court.
She made the statement under section 164 before the special court of Barguna Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Sirajul Islam Gazi on Friday afternoon.
The confessional statement resulted in ending the five-day remand term in three days. Later, the court sent her to jail.
Minni was no. one witness of the case filed over Rifat Sharif murder. She was taken to Barguna Police Lines on Tuesday morning for interrogation over the incident. Later around 9:00pm on the day, she was shown arrest in the case.
Minni’s husband Rifat Sharif was hacked to death in front of Barguna Government College in broad day light on June 26. The incident sparked outrages across after a video clip of the gruesome murder went viral on social media.
