Thai citizen sent to jail in fraud case

Staff Correspondent: A court here on Thursday sent a Thailand citizen named Kiwatkat Somoiyothok to jail in a case filed on charge of fraudulence.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court Judge Rajesh Chowdury passed the order after rejecting his bail plea.

The court issued an arrest warrant against him on September 5.

Amit Group filed the case against the Thailand citizen, who is also the Managing Director of Siam Group, on February 11 this year.

According to the case statement, Kiwatkat signed an agreement to hand over the licence of a club to Amit Group and took Tk one crore. But, he sold it to another company in 2011, avoiding the agreement.
