Tk80 lakh of National Bank missing: 4 remanded

A Dhaka court has placed four people to one-day remand each in a case filed over missing Tk80 lakh of National Bank.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Dhiman Chandra Mondal passed the order, after rejecting bail petitions on Tuesday.
The accused who were remanded are known as Jahangir Alam Don, 43, executive officer of National Bank, Dilkusha Branch, driver Abdul Latif, 55, security guards Shah Alam, 50, and Younus Ali, 50.
Earlier, Kotwali Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI), also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, produced the accused before the court sought a seven-day remand for each.
Mentionable, a sack containing Tk80 lakh went missing from a vehicle of National Bank in Old Dhaka on Sunday.
Later, HabiburRahman, a senior executive vice president of the bank's Dilkusha branch, filed a first information report (FIR) in this regard. Habib registered the case with Kotowali Police Station on Sunday night against unnamed people.
