Truck runs over youth in Satkhira

A youth was run over by a truck in Bakal area of Satkhira district on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Shamim Hossain, 23, son of Abdul Hamid of Parkukhrali area in the district.

Locals said a wheel of the truck went under soil in the road near Bakal bridge in the town. Shamim along with others was trying to rescue the truck. All on a sudden, the truck moved back and ran over Shamim.

Later, he was rushed to Satkhira Sadar Hospital where duty doctor declared him dead, they added.

Mostafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Satkhira Sadar Police Station, confirmed the matter.
