Two Indian High Commission officials have been missing from Islamabad, Pakistan, since Monday morning, according to sources.
The officials were out for an official work before they went missing. The Indian government has taken up the matter with Pakistan authorities.
Tensions had been building between the two countries ever since India expelled two Pakistan officials accused of espionage.
Following the expulsion of Pakistan officials, the Indian diplomats were expecting a reciprocal action from Islamabad. The Indian high commission is finding it difficult to resume normal functioning, faced as Indian diplomats and consular officials are with incessant and aggressive tailing and surveillance.
