Two killed in city road accidents

Senior Correspondent: Two people were killed in separate road crashes in the capital Dhaka.

The deceased were identified as Md. Shahirul, 45-year-old greengrocer and a 60-year-old unidentified woman.

Shahirul was critically injured as a vehicle hit him under North Badda overbridge around 7:00am on Sunday. Bystanders rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctor declared him dead, police said.

In another accident, a bus of Ekota Paribahan hit an elderly woman in front of East West University (EWU) in Turag-Kamarpara area, leaving her critically injured, around 11:00pm on Saturday.

Locals rushed her to DMCH where she was pronounced dead by physician.

Police said that the bodies were kept in morgue for autopsies.
