One lynched in Jashore

A suspected cow thief has been beaten to death by angry mob in the district’s Jhikargachha upazila.

The incident took place at Ramchandropur village of the upazila on Wednesday midnight.

The deceased was identified as Illias, 35, at Krishnanagar village of the upazaila. Another thief Abdul, 30, was also seriously injured in the incident who has been admitted to Jashore General Hospital.

Jashore Additional Police Super Towhidul Islam said villagers caught them while they were steeling two cows of Nisar Ali Mollah at Ramchandropur village.

Later, the locals gave them a good beating, leaving on dead on the spot and one seriously injured.
