Verdict on Syed Kaiser’s appeal today

The appellate division of the Supreme Court is set to pronounce today the verdict on the appeal hearing of former Jatiya Party minister Syed Mohammad Kaiser who was sentenced to death for crimes against humanity in 1971 liberation war of Bangladesh.

An appeal bench led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain will pronounce the verdict today.

On December 23 in 2015, International Crimes Tribunal-2 sentenced Kaisar to death along with 22 years in jail for his role as Rajakar commander and Shanti Committee member in Habiganj during the war. Later on January 19 in 2016, he appealed against the verdict.
