War crimes: 2 Netrakona men to walk gallows

Staff Correspondent: Two war criminals from Netrokona have been sentenced to death for their crimes against humanity during liberation war.
A three-member International Crimes Tribunal bench, headed by Justice Md Shahinur Islam, pronounced the verdict around 11:50am on Wednesday.
The convicts are Hedayetullah alias Anju BSc, 80, and Shohrab Fakir alias Sohrab Ali, 88. Both were collaborators of Pakistani occupation forces during the Liberation War.
Earlier on March 7, the tribunal kept the verdict awaiting.
On January 10, 2017, the tribunal took into cognizance the formal charge submitted by the prosecution.
In the testimony of 40 witnesses, crimes, including abduction, torture, robbery, torching, murder, genocide and forced extradition were found against the accused.
